1893 Etching Emmaus Franciscan Monastery Architecture - ORIGINAL PS3 FL1 This is an original 1926"Emmaus, Monastery." This is an original 1893 etching (individually hand painted) of the Franciscan Monastery in the ancient town of Emmaus, located approximately 7 miles northwest of Jerusalem. Tradition identifies this town as the place where Jesus appeared before two of his followers after his resurrection (Luke 24: 13 27). The Monastery has an internal chapel dedicated to St. Cleopas, one of the two men to which Jesus appeared. Period Paper is
