Educated in Paris and Antwerp, Edwards also wrote and illustrated several books on travel and was a member of the Cos Cob Art Colony in Greenwich, Connecticut. This print depicts the Pont des Basses Grilles, an old bridge in Metz, located in Lorraine, France. In the distance, the spire of the Metz cathedral peeps over the trees.
