Isabella print buildings The church may be imaginaryA reproduction of Isabella by John Everett Millais (1829 1896) from Walker Art Gallery collection. This was Millais' first Pre Raphaelite painting. The bright colour and flat picture space were inspired by early Italian painting. He also used symbols such as the hawk tearing at a feather, Isabella's blood orange and the passionflower above her head. The PRB on her stool indicates Millais' recent membership of the Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood.
